Cast & Actors
Invite cast members to Studio Color so they can access their personal call sheet, view scripts, see the current scene, and stay in sync with the production.
What actors can access
Cast members have a read-only viewer permission level. They can see everything relevant to their work on set, but cannot edit production data.
- My Call Sheet — A personal view of every shooting day they are called to set, including their individual call and wrap times, locations, and the scenes being filmed.
- Current Scene — Real-time view of which scene is currently being filmed, with scene details, props, and location information.
- Scripts — Read-only access to uploaded script versions. Actors can view and download the latest script PDF.
- Announcements — Production-wide announcements and polls sent by the team.
- My Page — Their own profile and contact information on the project.
- Cast Crew — The full cast roster for the project.
Inviting a cast member
To invite an actor, navigate to the cast crew page or Org Chart and click Invite Member. Set:
- Department: Cast
- Role: Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Day Player, Background / Extra, Stunt Performer, or Voice Actor
- Permission level: Defaults to
Viewer— this is the correct level for cast members
Adding an actor to shoot days
Once an actor is a project member, go to a shoot day in the Production Schedule and add them to the crew call sheet for that day. You can set their individual call time, wrap time, and any notes — separate from the overall crew call. These personal times will appear prominently on their My Call Sheet page.
My Call Sheet
The My Call Sheet page is the actor’s primary view. It shows only the days they are personally scheduled, sorted chronologically. Each day card shows:
- Date, day number, and shoot day status (Planned, Confirmed, Shooting, Wrapped)
- Their personal call and wrap time
- Location(s) for the day with address details
- Scenes scheduled for that day
- Any notes specific to their assignment
If the actor has not yet been added to any shoot days, an empty state is shown so they know to check back once the schedule is confirmed.
Cast roles
- Lead Actor — Principal cast with a primary role in the production
- Supporting Actor — Secondary speaking roles
- Day Player — Actor hired for one or a few specific shooting days
- Background / Extra — Non-speaking background performers
- Stunt Performer — Specialist performing stunts or action work
- Voice Actor — Cast member providing voiceover or ADR
Viewer permission. This is intentional and cannot be elevated from the Cast department — if a cast member also has a production role, invite them separately to that department.
